Large batch of marine pumps sent to Severnaya shipyard

26.05.2020

170701 is no doubt among the most ambitious and challenging projects of the Russian civil shipbuilding in terms of engineering. The concept of a multifunctional fish-processing factory operating right in the open sea with zero waste is of course in need of the most advanced technologies and state-of-the-art solutions to be united in an unfailing single production facility.

In this relation, the Nautic Rus design bureau had a number of really complicated engineering problems to solve. And its specialists managed to do so thanks to the top-of-the-line marine equipment available on the market.

The wide range of pumping equipment, which in this case was beyond the standard scope, is also worth mentioning, as apart from fitting basic shipboard systems, the project required pumps for the fish processing unit to become a full-cycle production of fillet, caviar, minced and powdered fish, liver.

Another batch of pumping equipment for trawlers project 170701 was shipped from Kronstadt's warehouse in Saint Petersburg. The batch for Severnaya shipyard included:

  • Vertical gear fuel pumps
  • Reversible horizontal gear fuel pumps
  • Gear oil pumps
  • Vertical slurry pumps
  • Self-priming drain pumps
  • Technical fresh water pumps
  • Overboard water pumps for the fish production unit
  • Cooling pumps
  • Food storage unit cooling pumps (with overboard water)
  • Overboard water fire pumps
  • Waste and service water pumps
  • Hot and fresh water pumps
  • Winch drive cooler pumps (with overboard and fresh water)
  • Other types of pumping equipment (46 positions in total)

Working on project 170701 is a perfect illustration of the complex approach Kronstadt specialists apply when providing equipment for multistage projects of the Russian shipbuilding industry.

As of today, Severnaya shipyard is actively working on six refrigerator trawlers. On May 18, the yard started metal cutting for the 6th ship of the series, which completes the line of the vessels to be sent to north-west Atlantic for fishing and fish processing. 4 other trawlers under this project will be built to operate in the Far East region.

For each vessel under construction, Kronstadt regularly supplies various pumping equipment carefully selected and specifically designed by our specialists in close cooperation with Nautic Rus engineers.

Earlier for 170701, our company supplied wastewater treatment systems BIOCON by Techni S.A., as well as vacuum units and a number pumps for onboard workshops.

Such complex and integrated supplies of high-tech equipment for serial projects is where Kronstadt specialists have substantial experience. At each stage - from interaction with customer's engineers, design, technical documentation, certification, order placement, and delivery to installation and startup works as well as personnel training - we are always ready to provide qualified support for your project.
