Marine equipment by DENO Compressors to complete a dan boat
13.08.2020
Kronstadt company is supplying marine-grade 10-bar screw compressors along with reservoirs made by DENO, Netherlands, to several Ice3 dan boats (buoy-laying vessels) built by Zelenodolsk shipyard under project BLV03.
Vessels project BLV03 are designed by Marine Engineering Bureau in St. Petersburg for the Federal Hydrographic Company (a part of Rosatom holding). Their functions include setting up, maintenance, and delivery of navigation and radio equipment, as well as delivery of special crew - all being part of hydrographic support for Arctic navigation. The class of the boats is 'Ice3', which means they can go on their own in brash ice or follow an icebreaker in the ice up to 0.7 m thick.
In June 2020, the compressors by DENO, RMRS-certified, were dispatched to the customer.
The compressors themselves are designed for maintaining a set pressure level in the boat's pneumatic system upon requests from the control system and following a pressure sensor. The equipment works in automatic mode and is governed with a PLC controller via an easy-to-use panel. Screw-type compressors were chosen not only for their reliable operation and easy maintenance, but also for their low vibration and noise, which is, of course, important for operating onboard such ships.
