OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARITIME DEFENSE SHOW 2017

The 8th international maritime defense show has recently ended. The show is one of the most significant exhibitions of civil and military shipbuilding.

This year, more than 400 companies from 31 different countries participated in the show. 56 official delegations also attended the exhibition. The companies' products for shipbuilding industry were displayed on booths, open platforms, and in adjacent waters.

During the show, the Kronstadt Engineering Company's showcase was displaying products by HamiltonJet, a manufacturer of water jet propulsion systems from New Zealand.

The visitors and participants of the show got familiar with a full-scale specimen of the most popular compact water jet - the HJ322 model. Everybody could have a closer look at all the components of this unit.

Moreover, anyone who asked was given a comprehensive consultation from our specialists about the application, features, and operation details of this type of water jets, installed on motorboats run by many rescue teams and militaries around the world.

As expected, ship builders and designers showed high interest in the HamiltonJet production. There were many representatives of leading design bureaus among our guests.

Those visitors, who wished to see the exceptional operation features of the water jets by HamiltonJet for themselves, had an opportunity to observe a project of one of our company's partners, Alexeev's Hydrofoil Design Bureau.

This was a brightly colored, utility and crew motorboat named "Katran". Designed as a multipurpose vessel, the boat demonstrated high speed and maneuverability among the other motorboats displayed at the Lenexpo exhibition complex. The main function of this 10-passenger motorboat is servicing the needs of its parent vessel while it is lying out. Apart from this, the boat is fitted with diving equipment. It is the two water jets by HamiltonJet that allow Katran to achieve the speed of as much as 32 knots per hour at the endurance of 100 miles.

There at the show, the new motorboat was officially handed over to the customer, Shiprepairing Center Zvyozdochka. The acceptance act was signed by the customer's representatives in presence of some officials from the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast government.

After several tests in the Gulf of Finland, the customer's representatives stated that the operational characteristics of the motorboat complied with their requirements in full.

This project's success will allow Alexeev's Hydrofoil Design Bureau to continue the Katran series by building new boats, while Kronstadt Engineering Company will be doing its best to supply all the equipment its partner requires. 

We have no doubts that in just 2 years the new INTERNATIONAL MARITIME DEFENSE SHOW will exhibit more vessels equipped with efficient and reliable water jet systems by HamiltonJet!
