Pumping equipment supplied to the Kerch ferry line15.08.2016 Kronstadt Engineering Company Ltd. has signed a contract for supplying marine pumps by Danish company DESMI A/S to be installed on ferries carrying passengers and vehicles over the Kerch strait, between the ports Krym and Kavkaz.
Reequipping the ferries with new onboard pumps is required under 5-year class accreditation by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS).
For the Kerch line ferries, the specialists of Kronstadt Engineering Company helped to choose and deliver S-series vertical centrifugal inline pumps for overboard water systems and GP-series oil gear pumps designed for non-corrosive viscous liquids with temperatures of up to 150° С.
The supplied equipment obtained the RMRS type approval certificate and passed all the factory tests and inspections required, including compliance with the Technical Regulations on maritime transport safety. The highest quality of DESMI A/S pumping equipment is guaranteed with the company’s quality management system ISO 9001:2000-certified.
That is why the specialists of Kronstadt Engineering Company highly recommend DESMI products as most reliable and suitable for marine environment and heavy operation.
Until the bridge over the Kerch strait is constructed, the ferry line will remain the most popular way to get to the Crimean peninsula, meaning that the transport vessels there have to comply with most demanding operational criteria especially during high season.
